Ramnarine stars for Bush Lot New Generation

Georgetown, Guyana - The 2014 Tenelec Inc. Under-15, two innings cricket competition in Berbice continued recently with several teams recording victories.

Highlighting the latest matches was the outstanding all-round performance put out by Berbice Under-15 cricketer Kris Ramnarine that saw his team, Bush Lot New Generation, gaining an outright win over Acheivers. He topscored in both of his team’s innings with 78 and 21 and then picked up 4-14 and 4-20 for match-figures of 8-34.

After Rose Hall Town Farfan and Mendes posted 161-4 declared in their first innings against arch-rivals Albion Community Centre, their off-spinner Brandon Corlette then took 5-7 from 13 overs which, together with 2-8 from medium-pacer Cromwell Davidson and 3-12 from 16 overs from left-arm spinner Keith Simpson, helped skittle out Albion for a paltry 55 in their response.

In the other game, after Tucber Park bowled out Rose Hall Community Centre for 43 in their first innings, Berbice Under-15 batsman Steve Deonarine slammed 58 not out to steer his team to 142-5 in reply.

Tucber Park, led by pacer Dominique Durant with 4-5 and leg-spinner Brandon Stewart with 3-5, then dismissed Rose Hall for 34 in their second innings to win by an innings.

At Bath: Bush Lot New Generation Beat Acheivers by 87 runs. Bush Lot New Generation 174 all out (Kris Ramnarine 78, Yuvendra Budhu 37, Divindra Sooklall 3-14, Amit Mohan 3-17, Christopher Harry 3-47) and 62-5 declared (Kris Ramnarine 21, Amit Mohan 3-15) versus Acheivers 84 all out (Christopher Harry 22, Kris Ramanrine 4-14) and 65 all out (Christopher Harry 23, Kris Ramnarine 4-20, Yuvendra Budhu 2-1, Dhanraj Goosai 2-15).

At Albion: Rose Hall Town Farfan and Mendes took first innings points from Albion Community Centre in their drawn match. Rose Hall Town Farfan and Mendes 161-4 declared (Sundra Budhoo 45, Kevlon Anderson 29*, Emanuel Seecharran 25*, Karran Arjpaul 3-44) versus Albion Community Centre 55 all out (Brandon Corlette 5-7, Cromwell Davidson 2-8, Keith Simpson 2-12).

At Rose Hall Canje: Tucber Park beat Rose Hall Community Centre by an innings and 65 runs. Rose Hall Community Centre 43 all out (Dominique Durant 2-10, Bharrat Bhopal 2-10, Brandon Stewart 3-15, Naresh Chan 2-6) and 34 all out (Dominique Durant 4-5, Brandon Stewart 3-5) versus Tucber Park 142-5 declared (Steve Deonarine 58*, Naresh Chan 25, Gavin Schultz 3-40).
