Captain Leon Johnson, added just one to his overnight 73, while Barbadian import Raymon Reifer struck 32.

Captain and medium pacer Kevin Stoute was the best bowler with three for 30 while off-spinner Roston Chase (2-28), left-arm spinner Sulieman Benn (2-63) and off-spinner Ashley Nurse (2-77) finished with two wickets each.

Permaul then struck twice as Pride stumbled to 60 for four at the close, to trail by 277 runs heading into day three of the Regional First Class Championship encounter at the National Stadium.

Debutant Kemar Brathwaite (11) and Kyle Corbin (16) put on 20 for the first wicket before Permaul got the breakthrough when he had Brathwaite caught at the wicket by Anthony Bramble – the first of four dismissals for the keeper.

Left-hander Jonathan Carter, playing in his first match since returning from West Indies duty, fell cheaply for four to the third ball following the first drinks break, edging pacer Ronsford Beaton behind.

And with just four runs added, Permaul prised out Corbin after the right-hander had batted nearly and 1-1/2 hours, stumped by Bramble at 36 for three.

Pride were in further trouble when the in-form Shamarh Brooks departed for just nine to another catch at the wicket, this time off left-arm spinner Gudakesh Motie at 52 for four.

Chase, unbeaten on 12 and debutant wicketkeeper Mario Rampersad, on five, then saw out the remaining four overs to ensure no further loss.

Earlier, Vishaul completed his third first class hundred off 241 balls in nearly six hours with 14 boudaries.

He lost overnight partner Johnson in the day’s fourth over when the left-hander edged pacer Miguel Cummins to Benn at first slip.

Vishaul then added 33 for the fourth wicket with veteran Shiv Chanderpaul who made 11, and put on a further 89 for the fifth wicket with Reifer who struck six fours in a 60-ball knock.

Once Reifer was bowled by Chase after lunch, the Jaguars innings declined rapidly, with the last six wickets going down for 35 runs.

Vishaul was seventh out, caught at the wicket off Stoute.
