This publication was also informed that the players were threatened by the Board’s Secretary, Anand Sanasie.
Meanwhile, batting first after winning the toss, Demerara never gave themselves a fighting chance and were bowled out for 85 in 19.5 overs.

Openers Brian Sattaur (42) and Imran Hassan (21) added 49 for the first wicket, but no other Demerara batsman managed double figures.

In reply, Berbice lost West Indies youth opener Shemron Hetymer (0) in the second over, but national wicket-keeper Anthony Bramble (37) and Kandasammy Surujnarine (19) put on 50 for the second wicket to lead Berbice to the commanding victory.
Kevin Ramdeen and Foo contributed 16 runs apiece as Berbice reached 87-4 in 10.1 overs.
Prior to the feature game, New Amsterdam/Canje beat Upper Corentyne by 39 runs; Lower Corentyne defeated West Berbice by 32 runs and in the final, New Amsterdam/Canje topped Lower Corentyne by seven wickets.
