Georgetown, Guyana - The 2015 Raffik and Sons Construction Services Second-Division 20 Overs Cricket Competition for teams in the Lower and Central Corentyne areas commenced recently in Berbice with four games.
At Fyrish, Fyrish beat Fyrish Road by 43 runs. Fyrish accumulated 166-5 in 20 overs with Wazim Mohamed making 59, Yugendra Chinapen 50, and Mahendra Shirkissoon 23 not out. Shazad Khan took 2-31.
In reply, Fyrish Road were bowled out for 123 in 18 overs with Saif Latchana hitting 39, and Saud Ahmad, 36. Safraz Bacchus (2-15) and Yugendra Chinapen (2-42) were the best bowlers on show for the winning team.
At Tain, Tain Block Four beat Mibicuri Jaguars by eight wickets. Mibicuri Jaguars made 93-9 in 20 overs.
Krishnanan Balgobin (2-10); Mahendra Baldeo (2-4) and Veeram Baldeo (2-13) were the main destroyers for Tain Block Four, who replied with 94-2 in 11 overs, with Madan Budhram scoring 55 not out and Mahendra Baldeo, 26.
At Albion Primary School Ground, Big Star beat Toopoo Rising Star by 35 runs. Big Star put together 118-7 in 20 overs, with Tosho Forrester topscoring with 36. Toopoo Rising Star in reply were bowled out for 73 in 18 overs.
At Mibicuri, Mibicuri Strikers beat Kildonan by 18 runs. Mibicuri Strikers had 118-8 in 20 overs with Narine Rameshwar scoring 37 and Komal Ganesh, 28.
Kildonan replied with 100 in 18 overs, with Cliff McKenzie ending up on 32 not out. Komal Ganesh and Reaz Alli both claimed three wickets apiece.
