Georgetown, Guyana - Transport Sports Club (TSC), Malteenoes Sports Club (TSC) and Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) recorded victories when play in the Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA)/New Building Society (NBS) second division 40-over competition continued yesterday with three matches.
At Muslim Youth Organisation ground, TSC beat Ace Warriors by 77 runs. TSC posted 239 all out in 36.5 overs, batting first. Charwayne McPherson scored 47, Azeem Azeez 41, Sunil Singh 36, Waqar Bacchus 23 and Mark Ramsammy 19. Arthur Macy grabbed 3-20, Dellon Azore 3-33 and Romario Nepaul 2-32.
Ace Warriors threatened before they were bowled out for 162 in 28.3 overs in reply. S. Rice made 38, C. Dick 27, Kevon George 21 and Quincy Gordon 20. Azeez grabbed 4-30, Clyde Hoyte 3-38 and Kevin Ross 2-10 for the winners.
At MSC, the home team overcame MYO by six wickets. MYO were sent packing for 156 in 35.5 overs, batting first. Deon Mahadeo made 29, Chabiraj Ramcharran 25 and N. Persaud 20. Steven Sankar captured 3-18, while Mark Cumberbatch, Vishal Narayan and Shaquille Moseley had two each. MSC responded with 157-4 in 31.3 overs. Narayan slammed 53, Moseley 37 and Delvon Mc Ewan 22.
At Guyana Defense Force ground, DCC trounced Sophia by 10 wickets. Batting first Sophia were bowled out for 78 with Carlton Jacques grabbing 5-15. DCC replied with 80 with out loss. Sherfene Rutherford stroked 45 and Ronaldo Renee 26.
The competition continues today.
